If you're looking to connect your GoDaddy domain to your website, you'll need two things: a domain and a hosting account. The hosting (or server) account is where your website will reside. GoDaddy is where you can buy your domain

If you don't have a host yet? For a small or medium-sized website, I would suggest BlueHost. For more complex web applications, I suggest looking into something like Heroku, Digital Ocean, or AWS. If you get stuck at any point, I suggest you email your hosting company as they should be able to help you with your specific website.

1. Register your domain with GoDaddy

If you haven't done it yet? Go to GoDaddy.com. Find a domain you like and buy it.

2. Manage your domain

Once you've purchased a domain, go to "My Account" and find the domain you want to set up. Click "Start"

3. Update your GoDaddy DNS information

Find this page below. You want to go to where it says "Name Servers" on the bottom left. Click "Set Nameservers"

4. Add your GoDaddy nameservers

You want to choose "I have specific name servers for my domain" and then fill in your name servers. Typically there will be 2 or 3 nameservers to populate. These ALWAYS begin with the prefix “ns1.”, “ns2”. etc. You'll find your specific nameservers in your hosting company's welcome email (i.e. Hostgator, Dreamhost, or Bluehost sent you this email when you signed up for hosting. If not, contact your web host and they will help you). ).
